Safety
The following safety rules and regulations shall be followed:-

- Site safety rules and regulations
- The erection crew will adhere to safety measures to be followed prior, during and after erection as follows:-
- Safety helmet to be worn at all times.
- Safety shoes to be worn at all times.
- Safety belts to be worn at all times.
- Remco uniform to be worn at all times.
- During mobilization, all equipments and tools should be checked and confirmed that it is valid to be used for erection.
- During erection, high open areas should be carefully done and temporary barricades should be installed by the main contractor. Barricades to be provided around deep excavations.
- Proper access scaffolding to be provided by main contractor.
- During erection, elements should be guided using ropes (2 ropes minimum / unit) to ensure safe distance from labor and to avoid collision with the building.
- The crane driver should always have a clear view of the location of erection. If the location is blocked due to the nature of the site, radio phones should be used between the driver and the signal man.
- Glasses for welding to be provided.
- First Aid materials shall be provided.
- All heavy equipments to be tested and certificates obtained from approved agencies that the equipment is fit for use; Cranes, shovels, etc.
- In case of any accident on site, the main contractor is to be informed immediately and the ambulance services should be called immediately.
- Other safety instructions mentioned in Dubai Municipality code safety rules and practices shall be followed strictly.

- Provide signs around the site emphasizing on use of safety gear.
- No smoking on site.
- Method of operation on site should not cause pollution, noise or nuisance.

Safety Policy
- The safety policy of the Company includes the following objectives:-
- To integrate safety practices completely with construction, maintenance and operation requirements.
- To provide safe working conditions, proper and adequate tools, equipment and protective devices.
- To see that employees are at all times kept familiar with the general and special practices for the safe conduct of their work.
- To see that those safety measures and recommendations, which apply, are in all cases carried out by the employees.

Heavy Equipment Installation
Use suitable protective equipment, like rubber gloves, mats, safety glasses, etc. wherever required by instructions, or wherever it provides greater equipment should be tested at frequent intervals to ensure that equipment would provide the safety desired.
Goggles or other suitable eye protection should always be worn whenever there is a danger of exposing the eyes to flying particles like acids, caustic substances, harmful light rays or any other hazardous condition. Common operations which require the use of eye protection include the following
- Welding or cutting.
- Chipping and grinding.
- Drilling, cutting or breaking masonry.
- Handling hazardous chemicals.
- Handling molten metal.
- Cleaning with compressed air, sand blasting, if required.

Electrical Systems
- Never use an electric tool without a plug (industrial type)
- Before use always make sure the plug and cable are in good condition and any joints in cable be made with proper joints.
- Always wear safety goggles when using an electric hand tool.
- Never use an electric tool on work held in the hand.
- Never use damp or oily electrical equipment. Ensure it is clean and dry before use.
- Avoid standing in wet areas while operating electrical tools.
- Do not stretch cables from hand tools across walkway or traffic lanes.
- Always switch off and unplug electrical hand tools when not in use.
- Assign authorized personnel to tap temporary supply for various activities.
- Hand rail to be provided when working in scaffolding.
- Use safety belt when working in scaffolding at heights.

Working At Heights
Housekeeping
Workmen are frequently injured by tripping, stumbling, stepping on or bumping into tools, material and other objects left lying around, or by carelessly placed objects falling from above.
To ensure good housekeeping, following precautions should be observed:-
- Walks, aisles, stairways, fire escapes and all other passage ways shall be kept clear of all obstructions. Any open trenches, pits or such openings in passages and platforms when required for maintenance work shall be securely barricaded or roped off to prevent hazards. Openings shall be closed as soon as the work is completed.
- Tools and materials should not be placed where they may cause tripping or stumbling hazards or where they may fall and strike anyone below.
- Puddles of oil and water create a slipping hazard and should be cleaned up promptly.
- Nails in boards, such as those removed from scaffolds, forms and packing boxes, constitute a hazard and should be removed. The boards should be carefully stacked or stored.
- Dirty and oil waste rags should be deposited in containers and disposed off as soon as practicable to avoid fire hazard. Flammable rubbish should be disposed at end of each shift or more regularly as necessary.
- Broken light bulbs, glass and metal scrap and other sharp objects should be dumped in places or containers provided specially for them.
- Discarded fluorescent and other gas filled tubes shall be disposed off safely.
- Contractor shall engage dedicated house keeping crews with coordination by Main Contractor to keep working areas clean & tidy.
