Material Unloading / Storing
Unloading the materials at site and storing shall be in place, agreed and approval by Main Contractor and near to their points of erection. Care should be taken while unloading so that civil work may not be damaged. The materials should be kept in store. Materials stored shall be only for this project and as per the progress of work. Special attention to be taken for items expiring dates and those which needs special conditions.
All store materials will be controlled by the storekeeper.
The three phases of inspection of materials for all definable phases of construction as follows:-
Preparatory Inspection:
Preparatory inspection shall be performed prior to beginning any work on any definable phase of construction and as shown in the approved construction program. It shall include a review of Contract requirements; a check to assure that all materials and/or equipment have been tested, submitted and approved; a check to assure that provisions have been made to provide required control testing; and plan mock-ups where appropriate and as required by the Engineer.
Initial Inspection:
Initial inspections shall be performed as shown in the approved construction program and as soon as representative portion of the particular phase of the construction has been accomplished and shall establish the acceptable standard of workmanship, including a review of control testing for compliance with contract requirements.
Follow-up Inspections:
Follow-up inspections shall be performed daily to ensure continuing compliance with contract requirements, including control testing, until completion of the particular phase of construction. Such inspections shall be recorded in the QC Reports as specified herein.

Protection of Stored materials
One storekeeper will be responsible to prepare inventory of all equipments. Fittings and accessories.
Stacks all fittings and accessories in rack with demarcation of items.
All equipments to be kept well protected from the direct sun, dust and water.
All equipments to be covered with polythene sheets and canvas mat wherever required.
All equipments, fittings and accessories shall be issued from the stores to the site as per approval of the Project manager.
Storekeeper shall have all material records.
Monthly reports should be submitted to the Project manager.
Only approved material shall be stored, not approved material should not be stored.
Materials brought into the store should be exclusively for the use in the project.
No material shall be removed from site to any other site without the consent of R.E.
Store to be provided with adequate safety equipment in the event of accidents like fire, etc.
