Electrical Works
Power and Lighting System
Prepare the workshop drawings showing a complete installation along with section details for coordination with other MEP works.
Obtain DEWA approval on Electrical workshop drawings after consultants’ approval.
Sub-Station room trench layout and exact location of sleeves shall be obtained from DEWA.
Install PVC conduits embedded in structural slabs, this activity will follow progress of superstructure works by Main Contractor.
Install expansion couplers at locations of expansion joints.
Outlet boxes/DB boxes should be adequately protected against damage during installation due to plaster and termination of conduits in outlet boxes/DB should be with proper adopters.
Installation of final DB’s boxes enclosures.
Draw power/ lighting circuit wires from various rooms and respective D/B
Install bus bar riser in electrical shaft.
Install D/B’s, SMDB’s, MDB’s.
Provide circuit numbers for each circuit.
Run cables and termination in various panels.
Wiring accessories shall be installed after 1st coat of paint and protected during final coat of paint. Lighting fixtures shall be installed in accordance with coordinated and approved reflected ceiling plan.
Connect power supply to various mechanical equipments.
Testing of installation shall be done by Remco.
DEWA shall be called for final inspection of power supply.
All distribution boards and main cables shall be identified and labeled.

Bus bar Trunking System
- Preparation of layout drawings with all dimensions and details.
- Providing openings on all required locations at site.
- Storage of trucking materials prior to installations.
- Marking the route of the trucking system at site.
- Installation of hangers not exceeding 2 meters and vertical supports not exceeding 3 meters, ensuring each section of trucking is supported at least once.
- Installation of Busbar Trucking on the hangers and supports.
- Leveling busbar sections vertically and horizontally and making the alignment of the adjoining sections, joint connectors, joint covers properly before final tightening of all joints.
- Final tightening of joints with a torque wrench should be as per recommendation of manufacturer and perfectly under their supervision. A certificate should be obtained for manufacturer’s local representative that the bus bars are installed satisfactorily and as per their recommendations.
- Installation of TAP off boxes on Busbar Trucking.
- Meggering of insulation resistance.
- Fire barriers materials shall be provided for closing the all electrical openings, bus bar openings as recommendation by manufacturer and approved by Civil Defense.
- Trunking shall be protected in storage and installations by using polythene wrapping / covers.
- Telephone / Data System
- Prepare the workshop drawings showing a complete installation along with section details for coordination with other MEP works.
- Obtain Consultants approval.
- Obtain Etisalat approval for telephone workshop drawing.
- Install sleeves for main telephone incomer. Install telephone boxes & telephone junction boxes. Prior coordination with Etisalat is required for exact location of telephone main cable entry sleeve.
- Install PVC Conduits embedded in concrete slabs and walls.
- Install trucking/cable trays in risers as highlighted in relevant shop drawings.
- Run wires from various telephone/data outlets in to intermediate telephone distribution frames, via trucking/pipes in corridors false ceiling area. Wires used should be approved by Consultant and also from Etisalat.
- Run telephone / data cables from intermediate distribution frame panel into main distribution frames in ground floors low current room via trucking cabling riser.
- Install distribution frame panels, telephone / data outlets and terminate relevant wires and cables.
- Testing & commissioning of telephone installations.

Fire Alarm System
- Prepare the workshop drawings showing a complete installation along with section details for coordination with other MEP works.
- Obtain consultants approval.
- Obtain Civil Defense approval on the fire alarm system after consultants approval.
- Install PVC conduits embedded in concrete slabs and walls.
- Install trucking / cable trays in risers as highlighted in relevant shop drawings.
- Install approved fire alarm cable from various devices through conduits (Trucking will be used for riser only).
- Install and terminate fire alarm system devices in various areas. This activity will run concurrently with finishes and false ceiling activities.
- Install fire alarm panel in Ground floor and terminate loops and be;; circuit wires.
- Protect the fire alarm panels adequately.
- Commission and activate system.
- Testing & commissioning the system.
- Call Civil Defense for final inspection.
- Submit commissioning & testing record formats.

Low Current Systems
- Prepare the workshop drawings showing a complete installation along with section details for coordination with other MEP works and shall be submitted for approval of workshop drawings.
- Arrange material submittal to obtain the approval from Consultants.
- Place the order with suppliers.
- Install PVC Conduits embedded in concrete slabs and walls.
- Install trucking / cable trays in risers as highlighted in relevant shop drawings.
- Install and terminate low current systems devices in various areas.
- Install wires from various devices into trucking, run down to respective activity to main panel.
- Install main panels and terminate wires.
- Commission and activate the systems.
